To keep Racing for Britain moving on a clear course with
purpose and vision. We feel it is necessary and warranted to have the guidance
of a Advisory/Governing Board. Racing for Britain
works with drivers around the world, and in series to numerous to mention.
This Board is me up from professional people involved
in the day to day running of race teams, series, sanctioning, even insurance
and legal expertise will be brought in. It is our hope that this will not
only give RfB and our drivers a better understanding of what we are trying
to accomplish, but will be able to steer RfB away from any potential trouble
spots that may arise. We have outlined in the following what we feel is
required for a proper Advisory/Governing Board, with an eye towards effectiveness
and quality management.
1) Director:
The President or Vice-President of Racing for Britain,
Ltd. - This provides continuity and a strong overview for the various programs.
Strong management and direction is extremely important because many of
the ideas and progms proposed will take years of development before coming
to fruition.
Advisory Board Members: Made up of representatives from
various interests.
2) Media:
We need an experienced motor sports writer or editor
on the Board. This gives RfB the ability to know what the media needs,
wants, and likes, it also affords us the credibility that comes with giving
the media direct access to RfB and the Board.
3) Sanctioning Bodies:
We should include a representative from all Sanctioning
Bodies that we intend to work with in the coming year or years. This will
give the Board a better insight into what a driver needs to compete in
each particular series or program. We have no interest in soliciting to
change any rules in any series or Sanctioning Body.
4) Series Representatives:
RfB should have a representative from all of the series
where we intend to enter or offer support.
5) Team representative:
It would be beneficial to have a Team Manager from different
teams and/or forms of racing sit on this board. Team Managers certainly
can contribute a tremendous amount of knowledge about problems faced by
drivers and requirements concerning finances for coming years.
6) Sponsor:
A representative from the major sponsor will sit on the
Board. We will also keep options open for other various sponsors who come
on board. Only the major sponsor will have a vote on the Governing Board.
7) Drivers, (2) One currently driving; one retired:
This will help us know what drivers need and expect from
our organization.
These Board Members will be kept informed electronically
on a week-to-week or crisis-to-crisis basis. They will be utilized to help
guide where and how Racing for Britain, Ltd., functions, and in what events
and chosen series.
They will also be asked to vote on which drivers will
receive money from the emergency funds.
